Fall Youth Retreat 2019

With one youth retreat under our belt, we felt more excited than ever to return to the beautiful Berkshires for our second annual youth retreat! We expanded our capacity and twenty-five teens joined in for a weekend of connection and fun. It was amazing to see many of our teens return for a second year - older and more confident in who they were! Our first-timers brought new energy and together with fifteen trans and non-binary counselors we had a wonderful weekend! We hiked and built trust through a series of games and obstacles. We had time for arts and crafts, poetry writing, and a workshop on healthy relationships. We had thoughtful conversations, silly conversations, and shared many laughs and smiles. 

Our teens came from seven different states this year - one person even flying in from California! We had a more diverse group of teens this year and were pleased to offer many scholarships. Our resident hairstylist was back and helping teens look stylish and feel good about themselves! We roasted marshmallows over a bonfire on our last night that glowed the colors of the trans pride flag and when it was time to go everyone couldn’t believe how fast the weekend had flown by.
